Jason, the only thing you need to be studying is a map of the Highlands. You have 51 other weeks to study for your future so I'm sure you can afford to take one weekend off

Re: Roll Call - Riders in Australia

Hey guys, I'm planning a day ride on Saturday 29th November, I got my the shift covered at work today, and I'm as keen as to get a ride together with some iBMW members in and around Sydney, Gosford and Newcastle gang too!. Destination unknown so far, but at least a 300km+ ride, with a pub counter meal in the middle somewhere. Early start, home by 4pm. Be a good chance to discuss the ride in March too.
Anyway, rain, hail or shine... I'm going for a ride, hope some of you can make it.

I started a thread for the ride so go to the link below if your keen or want to reply.

Hey Ian, would the guy in the pic you posted earlier, in the pink T shirt be Phil Sussman? Damn it looks like him. I lived at Clareville on the Northern Beaches for over 20 years, and he lived at Mona Vale Beach. Last time we spoke he was riding a Triumph Sprint...

Hi Folks. Looking at the reply dates I realise this post is a bit late. However I've only just joined i-BMW so don't judge me too harshly!

I live on the north west coast of Tasmania (Ulverstone, not far from Devonport) and ride a grey metalic F800GT. Been a BeeEm rider since the early '70s, exculively airheads. This is my first venture into something different.
I come to the big island once a year in November for the Snowy Ride and of course will be going again this year. Would be great to meet anyone else who may be going.

Anyone visiting our wonderful state is more than welcome to drop in. PM me.
Cheers...Dave

Re: Roll Call - Riders in Australia

Anyone up for a day ride, Sunday 21st June? It would be great to get all you Sydney and surrounding area iBMW members together. Put some names to faces, and catch up with the riders who already know each other.
Destination to be determined, just make sure your available for now!!

Re: Roll Call - Riders in Australia

Hey guys
3 of us are booked in for the California Superbike school at Sydney Motorsport Park on the Monday 17th August. Places are filling fast and would be great if anyone else is keen. QBE insurance covers the level 1 course which we are doing, not sure about other insurance companies, technically this is riders training.
Anyway, if this thread works the way it should, everybody on the roll call here should get this message, and if your anywhere near Sydney, we would love to see you with us on the Monday.

Re: Roll Call - Riders in Australia

Hey All.
We are organising a day ride on the either the 13th or the 20th of June. The ride will take us down the Numinbah Valley to Tyalgum where we will have lunch at the pub. While this road is very familiar to most of us it is still a brilliant ride and is a great opportunity to put faces to the names we see on our forum and meet some new riding buddies. Could you nominate your favoured date or both dates ASAP so that we can select the most suitable day.
Meet at the BP Beaudesert Rd Browns Plains. 9am on the selected day

QBE insurance cover Level 1 of the course. I think they are the only ones. From what I have heard speaking on the phone to members here in Australia that have done the courses, it's well worth the money and any idiots on the course get reprimanded , or sent home, so it's going to be less risk than a track day.....

it is well worth the money, i have done L1. I have been riding since i was a carpet commando not even knee high to a grasshopper and it still opened my eyes, they will show you the small things you are doing wrong and give you the arena to put them right. Before you know it youll be scraping your pegs (like i was on my K12R) without the worry of other road using idiots taking you out. you need the practice believe me K13ARSEMAN you bum lol

I prefer practice out on the road instead of going around in circles with dangerous heroes who think they're Casey Stoner
But you wouldn't know anything about going on rides Andyrooman because you're never allowed
