4.5 celsius starter balked.

I may have been confused but I did have the sidestand up and clutch in whilst in ear.
It made a really sickening sound.
Did I need to be in neutral at such a low temp?

It's in the 90s down here. When I start in gear with the clutch disengaged, the cycle gives a little tug forward, but not enough to cause concern. I could see how it might act up at low temperature.

Re: 4.5 celsius starter balked.

obsessing over this I think I was shivering so bad at startup I flipped the kill switch
wet hair from swim class at 50 MPH makes for a bit of hypothermia

Started several times since without a glitch.

Anyone else remember the pre-Gerbing days when you'd get home after a COLD ride and take a looooong hot shower only to violently shiver again hours later? Cold to the bone. BTDT.

You know it cabnfvr! There's simply no mercy on a Motorcycle when it comes to cold soaking to the bone.

I remember my first ride with Electric Vest and Heated Grips. It was 14 Deg F that day (Annual January 1st Ride) and I recall thinking "why didn't I buy this vest sooner!" It was soooooo good, I was sweating between my shoulder blades.

Re: 4.5 celsius starter balked.

once upon a time i drove a 14 hour trip on November 2
Snow in the wentworth valley Hoarfrost in places often down to crawl speed to keep moving.
got back to residence and was so weak and shaking I had to lie on the shower floor and let the physical plants endless supply of hot water pour over me. This with running the other showers the have the room warm up.

Over an hour later I crawled to my room and slept for 12 or more hours.
Intermittently waking from shivering.

20 and so smart. It would kill me today.
Cheaper than a Swiss clinic if things go south on me.
