Brembo or Carbone Lorraine brake pads?

Hi all.

Need to replace the brake pads on my 2009 K1300S. Am I better to stay with the OEM Brembo pads or change to Carbone Lorraine XBK5 front pads and RX3 rear pads?
Thanks in advance.

Front, rear or both?
Original OEM discs or aftermarket?

I like SBS myself. I got the badass ones at $90 us a set 25,000 miles ago and they are still going strong.

Re: Brembo or Carbone Lorraine brake pads?

Matt, I have stock rotors. Wanting to replace both front & rear. I'm using SBS now and not entirely happy with them. I have OEM Brembo pads on my S1000R and they are awesome. I know that the calipers are not the same but I do like the positive feel of them. I heard good things about the Carbone Lorraine but not 100% sure.

Hey Matt I have used nothing else but Carbone Lorraine (CL) on my K1200r . I have a set of Brembo M4 calipers on my Hp2 sport and fit CL pads to those as well. I am very happy with them. Check out Beemer Boneyard for the range.

Re: Brembo or Carbone Lorraine brake pads?

I agree regarding the Carbone Lorraine pads... I put them on my '09 K1300S with stock rotors, and I was very impressed. I got mine from Beemer Boneyard, and I will definitely buy them again if I keep one of my bikes long enough to need new pads...

Re: Brembo or Carbone Lorraine brake pads?

I've also got the Carbone Lorraine pads on my K1200S with oem rotors.. Been running them for a couple of years now.. Better feel... quicker stopping than oem pads.. Cheaper, too I think...

FYI.. we've been selling these for a while..Virtually all the feedback we've recieved has been positive.. If anyone is interested, we have them for all the late model BMWs and they usually ship within 24 hours... please let me know.. http://pirateslair.net/BrakepadsCL.htm
