She's GONE!

Yep, since 2002 there has been at least one KRS in the garage. As of today, this is no longer. A buyer with a recent near death experience decided to get back into riding and rode off with the Zebra today. I was very happy to sell it to him given his circumstances!

I'll miss that bike just like my 02. there will never be another bike that that will evoke the feelings the KRS had! Most importantly, it brought me here where I have met the finest of finest in the human race

Now I'm down to just two race bikes

The last I saw of the 02 summer of 2015

And the Zebra....

Re: She's GONE!

I remember when I sold my '04 Zebra then watched the new owner straddle it in my garage. He was vertically challenged and didn't anticipate the bikes seat height and heft and promptly got off balance. The bike tilted to towards me and I lunged forward to keep both bike and rider upright. I was successful but strained my back in the process. He then rode out of my garage and then down the street - gingerly I might add. I made the sign of the cross and knew the bike wouldn't stay pristine very long.

I still have my '02 RT which was my reentry bike after a 17 year absence from riding. I'd quite because I had three very, very close calls in five weeks with the last one being a full "stoppy" on an '81 Gold Wing when someone decided to change lanes and pull into a car wash at the same time. I kept the bike upright and continued home but that was it, I'd lost the will to continue riding. In a way it wasn't a difficult decision because earlier that year I'd also decided to continue my college education at night while working full time during the day. I also gave up skiing and sold all my guns and reloading equipment as I went all in for college. I never lost my interest in motorcycling and, well, here I am.

Two racing bikes?
Sometimes it is good to close a door and open another one.
