Dual sport riding

This past weekend a couple of buddies came over to the Island for a planned ride up Island to Bamfield...my buddy Chuck trucked his bike from his home in Banff AB. to Gary's place in Revelstoke BC and then to my place...
The plan was to ride up to Bamfield Friday morning... via trails, dirt roads and logging roads...around 300kms then ride around there on Saturday too...come back Sunday.. But our weather turned a little sour before heading out...we had gotten snow and weren't sure if we could make it over some of the higher elevations..

Unloading at my place..

Chuck just bought his 1090 late last year....I rode it for a bit...very tempting.

The guys had just bought Sena 30s and we hooked them up...Gary is a character...lol

Breakfast on the Malahat...

Things on the trail started out well but we did get turned back and had to take more pavement than planned....

We came into more snow yet...we rode in rain, snow and sleet...and then 10kms from our destination we had a good inch of snow on the road just to make it interesting...lol

Bikes parked for the night and went out to the pub....there is one store and the pub and motel/cabins all owned by a First Nations band..

Trevor:

A little snow can always make the trip more interesting. Nice pics glad it was not too much snow to cause you to cancel.

Re: Dual sport riding

Outside our cabin the next morning...it was -2...lol...

This was our view from our cabin in Bamfield..very nice.

the forecast didn't look to smart for staying another night there so we decided to head to Port Renfrew and spend the next night there...

We took logging roads all the way, pretty much..

We decided to treat ourselves in Port Renfrew....awesome place on the dock right next to the pub...

It was a lot nicer coming home on Sunday...
