2015 K1300S Wiring Diagram

Where does one obtain same? Recently ordered the Repair CD ROM for the bike, but my experience with BMW automobiles is that the Repair Manual and the Wiring Diagrams were two separate entities. TIA.

Re: 2015 K1300S Wiring Diagram

BMW could considers the wiring diagram to be "not suitable for non-BMW" people. The best tip I got is BMW uses brown for ground wires. The reason is Germans call ground by the old term "earth" which is dirt and dirt is brown.

Re: 2015 K1300S Wiring Diagram

Already ordered the factory BMW Motorrrad RepRom 2015, dated 05/2015 for All Models, p/n 79 7 707 276 and need to check through that when I get it. But again, my experience with BMW's automotive side, is that the two publication are/used to be separate. Thanks Herb.

Re: 2015 K1300S Wiring Diagram

Well for those who are interested, I finally got an answer from one of the parts guys at Max BMW, and he had to go ask a technician. Seems BMW views the wiring information as proprietary and it CANNOT be accessed unless the bike is plugged into the dealer's diagnostic computer system. As I understand it the tech can then diagnose sections of the electrical system by bringing up the diagrams. To loosely use an old Lucas joke, it's a secret as to how they keep the "smoke" inside the wiring harness. So there you are!

Re: 2015 K1300S Wiring Diagram

This is what I found on a Russian site last year. Very handy to check for bad or broken wiring. All it takes is a multimeter. Do not forget to disconnect the battery.
The ZFE connectors are numbered on the inside. You can find these numbers in the diagrams. I used used a little silicon spray to get the connector locks going.
The diagrams takes some study because of the language (the color code abbreviations are in German).

Old Timer SR-71 Decepticon now a Transformer: "What's this planet called?"
Sam: "Earth!"
Old Timer SR-71 Transformer: "What kind of a name is that? You might as well have called it Dirt!"

Maybe he is actually a German in disguise but with a Pommie accent??
Sorry, I'm a strong follower of the Transformer franchise and couldn't help myself

Well I don't normally imbibe pints as schooners are more to my taste, but the truth of the matter is I'm a single malt man and beer just bloats me these days But thanks for the thought Phil

Re: 2015 K1300S Wiring Diagram

The discussion has somehow changed to pints and alcohol, but for anyone interested here is the link to the wiring diagrams:

http://www.i-bmw.com/showthread.php?t=58856

The programm is only up to 07 k1200 but there is no difference to K1300.
Wiring is the same. (Except for crash/tilt sensor)

Only for those of you still stuck in the 19th Century! And for goodness sake who looks at the volume when ordering a drink?
But seriously, I love looking at lines on a page, but electrics scare the bejesus out of me I would much prefer to pay someone to do the work, assuming its not mega dollars But all of this aside a big thank you for the information. Now where do I sign up for the auto-electrics course?

It's always beer o'clock somewhere in the world And there's no clock associated with a good stiff dram of whiskey, just ask any Scot who wears a kilt
But this site is all about bikes and incohol and riding definitely do not mix
