When I try to open the BMW US website I get a 404 error message.
The BMW international site looks the same.

To be frank, unless this new website is showing an actual K1300S/R replacement, I cannot imagine anything exciting will actually appear

Multistrada replacement more like, has nothing to do with a K1300S

Post up the response if you get one. Last time I was there most of the guys manning it were from Morton's and Bob's. I think there's another dealer now out around Dulles but I've never been there.

Just departed show. Asked a few of the bmw reps about an S version of the 1000. They almost laughed. One said don't hold your breath. Sigh.

Sat on an XR. Big yuck.

Attended the DC IMS Show on Saturday, checked out the new K1600 B Grand America, nice looking but only had the black one there. Nice sized booth, good arrangement of models, nobody knew anything about a replacement to the K1300S. Now looking at a K1600 GTL or a R1200RT.

The Grand American is a good looking bike but it's been dialed back by the factory to limit top speed to 101 mph. No thanks.....might as well be riding a HD if all it can do is 101 mph.

101 mph isn't fast enough for an 800 lb touring bike with luggage?

There are a few HD's out there that will go much faster. I ran one down who was doing 130mph and kept it up for at least 20 miles across SR70 in Florida. He was a great rabbit!!

I'd be humiliated and embarrassed if a HD out ran my GTL, more reasons not to buy a grand American :-)

Like the looks of the Grand America too - but speed limited to 101 ? I 'll pass, all the more reason to shift focus to the GTL then. Or the RT, Arrrrg, tough choices...
