Hello from Hotlanta

New to the forums from Atlanta Ga. Primary ride is a 2001 K1200LT-Icon ( Gold ) 51K. Have had it for going on 3 years. Have been doing the spring thing with fluids. filters and maintenance ( not a small task on the LT) along with the replacement if the TPS for highway studdering. Blead all the brake and clutch lines but now have a throttle bind condition yet to resolve. Plenty of threads on that subject. Only got out once last year before the TPS issue and didn't get to fixing it before this spring. Wasted year. New GS-911 to the rescue for that repair. Speigler lines will be next in store as I can afford them or if one starts leaking. Looking forward to some longer rides up in the hills and maybe the dragon if I can get there. Even with the issues and required maintenance, it is the best bike i have ridden and hope to get many years out of it.

Welcome to the asylum Gordon! Don't wait for the brake lines to leak, because they might just pop when you need them! Better safe than sorry...more important than tires! OEM lines of that age are probably toasted.

Thanks John, I had one break last year ( short foot master to ABS ). Luckly I had just pulled out of my house and came to the stop sign ( about 75 yards ) and WOOOOOOOO Nelly. Turned around and parked it. Dealer said that was the one that most often goes but 14 years is long enough so they will be changed soon.

Bruce, here is the only pic I have access to at the moment. I am sure I can find a better one to post later.

Hey guy...I'm up by Tallulah Falls where great riding is everywhere. Give me a shout and we can hook up if you're so inclined.

A little advise...unless you have money and time to waste: avoid BMW Atlanta off Cobb Pkwy.

Hey Doug, Blue Moon in Norcross is the closest dealer to me and they are probably no less expensive. I have had a couple good chats with one of their mechanics and gotten some good tips and info. I don't pay anyone to do anything I can do for myself. The parts are still a killer though but that is the case in most respects for any bike. Thanks for the invite, I may take you up on it some day.
