Hurricane Michael

I assume everyone in the path has made plans and either evacuated or decided to hunker down in place. Governor Scott is saying it’s now too late to safely evacuate. Good luck and be safe.

In the aftermath, I can offer temporary lodging, mainly at our new Lenoir City, TN digs. RV sleeps up to 6 in a pinch, plus a few beds and air mattresses in the house. One open RV spot with power (50A and 30A) and water, big enough for a medium-sized RV. Lots of room for tent camping as well.

Just give us a head’s up if you head this way.

Again, good luck!

I live among the trees. If I take a picture all you will see is rain and trees. I'm not going out for the dramatic shots. I'm betting I finish the book I started.
Once power goes I don't expect it back for a week.

Been thinking of you...
I'm reassured.

Re: Hurricane Michael

we rode it out in our old house in panama city near downtown. Actual center was a few miles east of here - seems we rode the entire eye wall from north to SW without much of a break. It is sheer destruction. Mexico beach, just to our east is worse. we stayed five days and left for Gainesville for a few days break and get communication to start insurance, etc. (parked one car in the street and it survived!) we're fine - no worries - almost every rescue, FEMA, insurance, etc says its the worst they have ever seen. they say everyone they saw that rode it out wishes they hadn't. water may be back soon, sewage is critical, and maybe power in another week (I would have guessed month(s) for all - response seems impressive). trying to get back in to town tomorrow. I would say it was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced in my life, but I might be forgetting some things in my old age
