R9T for my wife

Just bought a mint 2016 R9T with just 4500 kms on it for my wife's 60th birthday present.
Will know next week if I am going to be killed for the expenditure or hugged with happiness!
Wish me luck...

Re: R9T for my wife

So, how long have you wanted an R9t for yourself?

Re: R9T for my wife

Good luck!

Karen's about the same age, and I've always made getting a bike for her an option. But until now, she's always said she prefers just riding along with me.

Until we were at Blue Ridge Yamaha, and she saw this:

2009 Yamaha Zuma 125 with about 600 miles.

It's perfect for her. She's had a hip replacement and still has trouble swinging a leg up and over to get on and off a bike. A scooter makes it much easier on and off. She has her learner's permit and loves riding the back roads of N GA and E TN with me.

Back on point, if I were in the market for a new BMW, it's the "Heritage" line of RNineT-based bikes that tickle my fancy.

Again, good luck and let's see some pictures!

Re: R9T for my wife

Well, she loved the R9T from first sight, and then after riding it for the past 2 weekends she is totally sold on it. She is pretty quick on it too, so I will have to be on my game to keep up!
We have an 800 km one day ride coming up in a week, so we will find out how the comfort rates after that.

A pic after her first decent length ride, which was in wet conditions.[url="http://www.i-bmw.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/43554/size/big/cat/509"[URL]

You're living in one of, if not the most pretty country in the world, why not exploit it in the way of a backdrop?

Re: R9T for my wife

For the last 3 months it has done nothing but rain every single week for around 5 - 6 days of the week, typically centred on the weekends. I show the nicest side in this pic. The cows up to their knees in mud on the other side of the house are a far less attractive pic. At least we keep on riding - this weekend is our NI 800 ride - 800kms in one day. We are both entered.
