Which throttle lock???

Looking to purchase a throttle lock, which one is the question
Looking on the web the ones I'm liking are: First choice - Kaoko throttle lock, like the look and thinking it would be easier to lock rather than being smooth.
Second choice - throttlemeister, no particular reason
Can anyone give me review of which one you may have and if you really like it and would buy it again.

Re: Which throttle lock???

I've only used the Throttle Meister so I can't compare. I found the Throttle Meister easy to use on the three cycles I have installed it. It allows small throttle adjustments to be made with no problem. Closing the throttle with it engaged is no problem should the need arise. The appearance is nearly stock. I believe they are slightly heavier than the stock bar ends which may help reduce bar vibrations but cannot verify that. It may boil down to just a matter of personal preference since you already have a first choice selected. Good luck.

I agree and have one also. It gives me just enough relief and is easy and cheap.

Re: Which throttle lock???

Trevor and john,
Thank you, for $30 bucks I think I'm going give it a try and order that one. Was searching and see that they have a newer version 2 out. Not sure if I should just get the 1" older plastic version for even cheaper yet?? Looks like I will have to go with the newer version, the older version is not available in the states, and I talked to the canada store they said probably about $40 to ship

Re: Which throttle lock???

I have a throttle meister with the weighted bar ends. Works great, reduces vibration and looks stock.

Re: Which throttle lock???

I have the Kaoko on my Multistrada and Throttlemeister on the K1300S. Functionality is about equal between the two but I like the looks of the Throttlemeister over Kaoko.
You can't go wrong with either one.

Re: Which throttle lock???

Kaoko here. With the ridged ring, somewhat easier to manipulate. Have had Throttlemeisters on other bikes. Sort of a toss up!

Re: Which throttle lock???

I belive Kaoko makes two styles. One similar in function to the Throttle Meister, and one that uses a lever.

Re: Which throttle lock???

This is the one that operates like the Throttlemeister. Twisting it on pushes the lock ring inward toward the center of the handlebar, imposing a friction lock on the throttle to hold it in position:

Re: Which throttle lock???

All of these devices are helpful in relieving fatigue on long rides, BUT... unless you are riding on a flat, straight road, continuous minor throttle adjustments are still required to maintain a constant speed... thees things definitely do not replace an electronic cruise control.

Re: Which throttle lock???

Totally know that, just looking for a few seconds on long trips to shake the blood in my hands.
When I had my K1200RS I used the cruise all the time at first but as time went on I noticed I used it less and less and less so not having cruise was not a deal breaker for me.
So I'm just looking for something to give me a little relief for the few occasions I need it.
Thanks to Trevor and John I think there suggestion will work out great and saved me some money too!
