SPOILER - Phillip Island MotoGP

Its been wet and wild so far this weekend, results for FP1, and FP2 below. FP2 was cancelled with only a handful of riders going out and getting wet. Looks like rain is likely for the rest of the weekend, with Sunday's forecast only slightly more optimistic.

The contest is on for MotoGP runner up between Rossi and Lorenzo, and since Jorge doesn't do well in the wet, the bad weather seems to favor Rossi under that circumstance. I'm hoping for sunshine, not for Lorenzo's benefit, the pussy, but I just think the racing is better in the dry.

Re: SPOILER - Phillip Island MotoGP

Very strange weather had a dramatic impact on qualifying, Rossi starting in 15th, Lorenzo in 12th Marquez went on to slicks as the track was drying and wound up well on top of the time charts, and Nicky Hayden in 7th, not bad!

I'm wondering that with the championship out of reach whether Rossi's level of enthusiasm has dropped off? Looks like it may be dry, and cool for the race, hope its a good one.

Any of the site's Aussie's attending the race?

Re: SPOILER - Phillip Island MotoGP

Something tells me that Phillip Island is not a happy place for MM. All the excitement seemed to be back in the battle over 3th through 5th or 6th place.

I don't know much about Cal Crutchlow as a person but he seems to have unlocked some previously untapped skillz this year. Not sure what to make of Nicky.

Re: SPOILER - Phillip Island MotoGP

Saw a replay of Hayden's crash on youtube this am. I did not get to see the whole race.

I don't know. Hayden was in front so he had the right to the line without colliding into Miller.

It looked like they both were leaned over but Miller nudged Haydens bar as he might have went wide a little. Miller didn't look like he was leaned enough for the turn.

Unfortunate for sure.

Rossi had a nice recovery from qualifying.

MM was going out looking to put a stamp on his championship and ride away. unfortunately, the bike and track had other ideas. Meh, he's still the champion.

You think Lorenzo is having short timer's syndrome??? I thought I read last week Yamaha refused to let him test the Ducati this season. I can see him stomping his feet and yelling it's not fair, no one likes me! Waaaaahhhhhh...
I'll go out on a limb and predict no wins and 1 podium next year for him. The bike seems to be the antithesis of his riding style. Then he'll use some exit clause and be gone to another team.

Re: SPOILER - Phillip Island MotoGP

Interesting race, Rossi's charge through the field from 15th to second was pretty impressive, Maruez's crash looked just like a rider error, Hayden was riding a good race until the crash, couple more races and season is over,
