The River Inn Resort in Hunt, Texas is on the banks of the Guadalupe river. Lodging is limited, so Book early to guarantee a room. You can secure your reservation with AMEX, MasterCard or Visa....7 day cancellation policy.

You should have plenty of wingmen or wingwomen from the northeast now that global warming will keep the excuse of cold or snow from being valid. Hell, by April it should be 80 F.

I wish I could confirm for this year - gawd knows I wanted to make it last year.

However, once again, until I have a better idea of my work load for next year I can't really commit - having your own company (and clients reluctant to pay those 100% price increases I keep trying to get past them - wonder why that is?) does have its downside.

Worst part is that I grew up around those parts and all I'd have to do is fly in to Houston, dump my stuff at my brother's house, rent a bike and ride on over.

Well, if I can make it and there's still a slot available by the time I make up my mind, I will certainly try.

River Inn also has a few 2 bedrooms for $ 75 a night. They work very well for folks that snore very loud.

OK, I'm confused. Pre-THCR is in Terlingua, and THCR is in Hunt? According to Rand-McNally they're 400 miles apart... is this correct??

Yup. A 400-mile day shouldn't be too much of an issue. Leave Teralingua in the morning, arrive in Rock Springs for late-lunch/early-dinner, putt over to Hunt for the unpacking ceremonies.

Did it last year, and visited Judge Roy Beans memorial site to boot.

We've left in snow (Deal's Gap at dusk in a rain/snow mix to miss a traffic backup in the Pigeon River Gorge. YeeHawwwww!!!) and seen 100º in Big Bend the same trip.

We recommend vented Gerbings.

River Inn's closed for the evening. Just ordered tires (thanks Santa) and will reserve our room at the Inn tomorrow. The pre-THCR details will be out in just a few weeks.

Yep, 407 to be exact. Unless you take a scenic byway or two. Most day rides are 300+ miles as well. We don't sit around much during the day. Unless you count quality saddle time. Half of our trip mileage is day rides, and we're 1500 miles from Big Bend. Lots of miles? Hell Yea!!
