2009 Sierra Gold Rush Rally lodging info!!

OK my friends, here is the lodging info for the 2009 Sierra Gold Rush Rally... we will be having a pre-rally this time with headquarters in Downieville, CA, and I have reserved rooms at the Riverside Inn:

Lodging here is very limited... there are only a handful of rooms available, so if you plan to attend the pre-rally you should make your reservations immediately. You MUST tell them that you are with the I-BMW group!! If they are booked up when you call, there is other lodging available in Downieville, and everything is within walking distance:

Rooms are reserved for Sept. 9th through 11th. September 12th will be a travel day to Sonora, an easy and beautiful day's ride south of Downieville. In Sonora we will once again be staying at the Sonora Days Inn:

Their 800 number is not working, so call them at 209-532-2400, and once again, you must tell them that you are with the I-BMW group. If you talk to someone who is clueless about our group, ask to speak to their manager or group reservations representative. If anyone has any problems with reservations, please PM me. We have rooms reserved here for Sept. 12th through 15th, with the 16th optional.

This rally will be even better than the last, and we are expecting a much larger turnout, so make your reservations now, and I look forward to riding with you in this motorcycle paradise!!

Rumors have reached The Cold coastal waters of Norway… of a Rally
The Sierra Gold Rush Rally.


Rumors of immense wealth, in form of nuggets and dust-like Gold…
for all to claim their fair share… in the far off land called, California.

Some likewise rumors lingered even last year, but we didn’t take them as
true.. but once again..? it must be true.

And as I am a ‘-49’ myself, though a hundred years ‘off’…. we,
Vikings of Norway, are preparing our Longboat to set sail and get our share..
or are we fooled by rumors…?? Well we intend to see for ourselves, me and
my wife, the Fair ‘Gøril of Norway’.
The only uncertainty is, we have never navigated our Longboat in those
warm waters that is told to be at that Latitude.. We even doesn’t know the
Stellars-view in navigating, The Ocean of the Pacific… but we will get
there..even if we must pilfer a navigational almanac of those areas..



It will be a long voyage and we are presently aiming for an arrival in
The Month of September in the Year of 2009.



Fairytales away…. We will attend, both the Pre- and The SGR 2009.
And we do have our lodgings confirmed.

Awesome, James!! Riverside Inn is small, and I was able to reserve all but one of the rooms (I think we have 9 or 10). But... if they happen to be booked, there is other lodging in Downieville, and it is a very small village, so you can pretty much walk everywhere... I'm so glad you can make it... be sure to bring some friends!!

We are going to see if we can get down there intact, without tangling with Bambi this time.

I just got done making our rez for the Sonora location. Talked to Star about the rooms in the modern section in back, due to the more desirable motorcycle parking. At first she said that there was only one room left in the upstairs, and it was $89 per night. I remembered to tell her I was with i-BMW.com and she said that I could have one of the massive block of rooms that were reserved for i-BMW, and the rooms were only $80 per night!

Beecher and I are in for nights of the 12th through 15th. We may bring some other Fools, I dunno

I received an email message this morning from Michael Carnahan... he and wife Nancy are innkeepers of the Riverside Inn in Downieville, CA, where we will be staying for the Pre-Sierra Gold Rush Rally. Michael stated that he still has two rooms available for our stay... a two room suite and a queen w/twin, so if you plan to attend, don't delay in making your reservation... www.downieville.us Michael has also been quite generous with his time for us in creating a map of the area which includes mileage, speed traps, gas stops, etc., for the local area, and also the Feather River Canyon and North Lake Tahoe. He also noted that they have 18 inches of fresh snow!! Don't worry... September weather should be fabulous!!

This is going to be an incredible get together and riding adventure... I hope more of you can join us!!
