Friend now on old K-bike

A friend of mine just purchased a 1985 K100 and he would like to get a little closer to the ground. He order lower suspension aftermarket, but is there a lower seat alternative that can help, either OEM or aftermarket?

I rode my '85 K100RT every day for years and found it to be about the right height for me, but I never heard of a lowered seat. In fact, if you look at the frame, you can see there is no way the seat itself can be lowered, since the frame runs right under the seat. The best he could do would be to have an upholsterer remove some foam and recover it. But it won't be comfortable!

Re: Friend now on old K-bike

I had an RS. The '85 seat is a mongrel, the other K100 models won't fit it.
Maybe thicker shoe soles would be easier.

Oh yeah, tell your friend not to park it on the side stand. He'll see why!

He has lowered rear suspension. Can he also lower the front?
