What's a good deal on a new 2009?
I'm now thinking to just go for a new '09 K1300S and would like to hear if anyone has thoughts or knowledge of what dealers may be letting them sell for now with the 10's out.
Also, seems many of you are happy to not have the ESA, so with that in mind please let me know if there was any other option you could live without or the one's I shouldn't live without? Regards

Unless a K12S is beneath you, there are many low-mileage well maintained '05 - 07' K12S' out there for sub-$10K.

Haha, this is my craigslist post. Let me know if you are interested. Keep in mind it would cost around $500-$600 to ship... pretty easy, they come to my door, pack it and deliver to your door. |

Re: What's a good deal on a new 2009?
I think that most of the '09s you're likely to find will either be loaded (the ones with ESA) or somewhat stripped. I bought my K13S after having had two K12S's, and I did not want ESA. The only options mine has are the multi-color paint, TPS, and luggage rack. The only option I really wish mine had is the ASC. The shift assist is cool, but really kind of superfluous for street use. I paid $15.2K, which was about $2K off the sticker price. That was in November, so you may be able to do a little better now. I think there were some dealer incentives that became available after I bought mine...
Don't know if they're still available...

Re: What's a good deal on a new 2009?
Appreciate the replies, it would be easier if I had some time to get to a dealer but the closest is a couple hours away and they didn't have any on hand a few days ago. I called another dealer 8 hours away and they had one on hand with a few options for low $17's.
Thanks

Even though they don't have any on hand, they can order from the same warehouse every other US BMW dealership does. I think you should be able to get a decently loaded '09 for around $14K. Search the forums - there are people who got great deals on fully-loaded ones. You could also buy mine and have the dealer options installed after the fact. ![]() |

Re: What's a good deal on a new 2009?
For what it's worth, I just picked up a barely used 2009 K1300S for $14,762 out the door.

Re: What's a good deal on a new 2009?
I can't help with the cost part of the question, but I'll give you some opinions on equipment.
I bought my '08KS without ESA but with ASC. I think that I can get more for my money if I put aftermarket shocks like Ohlins on the bike in a couple years. The ESA doesn't give enough adjustment to really tweak the suspension settings for high performance riding. ESA is stupid expensive when it comes time for a rebuild/replacement. I think ASC is an important safety feature on a bike with this amount of power. It has saved my ass once when I hit at oily patch as I pulled out in front of traffic. I was on the throttle and accelerating hard coming out of the turn when I felt the rear slip a bit. It happened so quickly that I didn't realize what was going on until it was over. ASC reduced power and kept me from low siding. What I thought was water on the road was diesel or something similar. Quote:

Re: What's a good deal on a new 2009?
Being where you are, I would consider buying far away and riding back home. There are a few dealers starting to give $3k discouints on '09s now.

That's just what I'm talking about, I wouldn't mind doing that or finding one closer to me, either way. And I'm inclined to agree with you George and the others saying to not get the ESA and replace with Ohlins down the road. I think I'm looking for one with: Heated Grips: $250 Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM): $250 ASC: $400 Luggage Grid: $150 Low Seat (31.1 Inches): n/c Now I just need to find the bike and the time to go fetch it! Thanks
