As the silly season is really in full swing today’s MCN suggests that he’ll go to MvDS and get a full factory Yamaha a deal brokered by Dorna

Re: Lorenzo

Well aside from taking a holeshot, from time to time, Lorenzo, like Rossi, is incapable of making the Ducati work for him. I also wonder if Lorenzo has the fire in his belly anymore? I was never a Lorenzo fan, but if he was on a bike that would allow him to pester Marquez I'd like to see it.

And yes Spain/Dorna looking out for their own.

Re: Lorenzo

They just couldn't stand to see Lorenzo without a ride! Unbelievable! Whilst apparently Rossi blocked Zarco from having anything to do with Yamaha. I think Zarco and KTM will get that bike sorted out and give the championship something to talk about.

As a side note.. Hearing Steve Day and Matt Birt constantly talk about Marquez is getting old. I was honestly thinking of posting on their social outlets that enough is enough, but thought it would do no good. Later that weekend they said they were taking a lot of stick in social media regarding their never ending Marquez comments. I guess others have had their fill also. I love MotoGP, but seeing 12 slomo shots of Marquez per free practice is super annoying!

I think Suzuki did well signing Joan Mir. He's seems a very likable kid. Yes it's a risk, but a good calculated one that should work out for them.

I hope Petrucci gets the factory Ducati, be interesting to see what he can do with factory support.

Really excited for this weekend's race in Mugello!

I’d also point out that story also says he’ll get a full factory bike so you can put Yamaha on the list as well as Dorna for looking after him.

Re: Lorenzo

Well, Lorenzo and Rossi seemed very cozy in the post race conference. Lorenzo even asked Rossi out to go to Venezia and pick up some girls.

... and I've read rumors that Viñales is not winning any races, or even finishing in the top 5/10 anymore... so what gives?

I'd love to see Lorenzo keep winning in Ducati (I like Ducati), but mostly I'd like to see Lorenzo keep Marquez entertained.

He may be getting a factory bike but he's still going to be on a satellite team. With that said, how much input is he going to have on development and the direction of the build?

After he won the WC in 2006, Nicky had a factory Honda on the Repsol team but they built it around Pedrosa so it was an exercise in frustration for him. Who is Yamaha going to build the bike around? Vinales, Rossi or Lorenzo.

He might have been better staying at Ducati where he has a little more leverage as a full factory rider. There's always the chance that he'll become the Fernando Alonso of MotoGP.

I don't follow F1. So, I lacked the context on Alonso.
Alonso is quite the cheat. I don't think you can place Lorenzo in that camp.
Maybe the not-so-likeable part, but Alonso has been involved in just about every cheat imaginable.

Re: Lorenzo

Meh, I guess it depends on which Lorenzo shows up for his date with Honda. I get it that Honda is making the move to better secure it's lock on the constructor title - Pedrosa hasn't been much help lately. I think we'll just have to wait and see and it should be fun to watch either way - Lorenzo starts winning races again or he lays another egg as he's done with Ducati up until this last race.

WTF was that by the way. He's not that competitive all season and then runs away wire to wire. Like I said, it depends on which JLo shows up.

Re: Lorenzo

Factory Ducati should try to pick up Chaz Davies from WSBK. He signed with Aruba.it Ducati for 2 years starting 2017, so he's available for the '19 season. Superbike rule this year change penalizes Ducati as punishment for Davies' skill.

I'd like to see how he assessed that decision. Does he think he has the chops to push Honda away from building a bike around Marquez? Or is Big Red going to use him as a development rider to refine the bike for Mark and Alex after Alex moves to MotoGP? I can't see Mark being pushed off his pedestal at Honda so I think it's going to be a JLo whine-fest.

What will be interesting to see is what happens the rest of the year with Ducati.

Re: Lorenzo

Lorenzo's skill nears or equals Marquez' and Rossi's. But I think he gets scared too easily. Has struggled to get over his fear of the Ducati that isn't giving him enough feedback. And he rides like an amateur in the rain. The things about Marquez are that he trusts his bike and tires, and he doesn't seem to fear crashing. We'll see at the end of the 2019 season, but I have a guess that the Honda chassis is going to give him the feel he needs.

Re: Lorenzo

When he's happy with the bike and with himself, Jorge is metronomic and almost uncatchable.

Sadly, his mental fragility means that if he's not happy, he rides like a Domino's Pizza newbie on a moped - on snow.

And I'm sure Mr Marquez will know exactly how to rattle his cage . . .
