oil leak from transmission k1300s 2009

My beloved k1300s has developed a leak at the rear of the transmission. The leak shows up at the boot that covers the drive shaft. I first saw oil at the foot of the kick stand, I had never seen fluid leak from a kickstand, must be something like blinker fluid. I inspected up higher and found the oil seeping around the rubber boot. I noted that the boot did not have a retaining wire or zip ty. The leak is not sever. I understand the k1300s has a wet clutch and the fluid is oil from engine/clutch/tranny.
I have an appointment with my dealer to inspect and repair on the 24th. My question is what should I expect in repairs and or costs. It is my belief that it is ok to ride as long as the leak doesn't get materially worse. so far the oil level is at full mark on dip stick.

Thanks for any info

yours Third gear.

If it leaks enough to form a small puddle under the bike I don't think I would ride it. If it is just weeping I'd ride it but I'd keep a close eye on the area its weeping, the oil level and I wouldn't go on any long distance rides.

Re: oil leak from transmission k1300s 2009

I purchased the bike two months past. It had 7100 miles on the odometer. It now has 8600.
I suspect the past owner knew there was a problem as the zip ty is missing from the boot.
The leak never amounts to a puddle. The kickstand is damp at the bottom. I wll watch leak and do short rides.

MY appointmentis on the 24th, I wonderinf about repairs?
