Have an Extra 3-Day Paddock Pass for COTA

I have an Extra 3-Day Paddock Pass for COTA.
I intended to buy two, but the website forced me to buy three.

So, will someone go?

Total is $433.

Please let me know and let's discuss it.

There’s a guy on the wera forums looking for passes for him and his kid. Although it sounds like he’s looking for something cheap...

Re: Have an Extra 3-Day Paddock Pass for COTA

Managed to sell it.
I was an entrance yelling "Paddock Pass for Sale!", "Does anyone want a paddock pass?", "get your paddock pass here!".
"Paddock pass for sale!"

My girlfriend thought it was funny.
But in the end an older lady bought it for his brother for $240.
So, a loss of $193 but not of $433.

The whole experience at the COTA website was awful. The box office was terrible as well.
They were hustling with price tickets. GA was $99 on Saturday and $139 on Sunday. Just because they can.

I requested a refund on the Paddock Pass, and they said I bought it through "TicketOffice.com" and not "TicketMaster.com".
I used your website I said, and I showed him.
"perhaps your iphone has a virus, or you clicked on a scammer. people are getting fraudulent these days".
I told him, "yeah, I can tell people are getting fraudulent, like your site, just another scammer".

So, unfortunately that part of the experience was bad.
No one of the staff knew where the paddock was. No one!!! I asked no less than 10 COTA-shirted staff.

When I got there, I found out that the Paddock Pass at $433 ($310 for the pass, $99 on "value added fee to provide better services" and $24 on UPS overnight (that took 2 days)) did NOT include a ticket to get to any seats or grounds.
So, another $139 a person.

The whole thing felt like a big scam. It was not cool.

Anyways, the price to pay for ignorance.

Perhaps next year, it'll be smoother.

That sucks, big time!
I wonder if a lot of people had expectations not met that went? COTA needs to know to make the experience better and not a cash grab for a sport that teeters on irrelevance in the US.

I wonder how it is in other countries?
Or compared to other sports in the US...

Re: Have an Extra 3-Day Paddock Pass for COTA

There were a lot of locals, or US regulars.
The ones I talked to, said the first time was a nightmare.

Parking, shuttles, nothing is obvious or clear to understand. Entrance is not signaled, so you have to follow the flow of people.
There are two box offices, but no one knew why the other one was not working (by the Paddock).

The cash grab and price raising was really appalling. I mean, I'm used to that in third world countries, but in the US? I thought a huge venue like COTA would be above cheap schemes like that. Extremely disappointing.
The toilets were dirty, and they decided to clean right when the race finished. Etc.

Of course beer was expensive at $9 per can. Food? of course.

But what really aggravates me is the Paddock passes.

Nowhere in that website says that you still have to buy ANOTHER pass.
and a $99 fee for "continue to offer a premium experience and services". WTF??!!!
Isn't what the $310 are for?

Staff not even knowing where things were.
Couldn't bother to ask people what seats to get. They didn't know.

What a mega mess.

Re: Have an Extra 3-Day Paddock Pass for COTA

Beech,

Still was an exciting race.
Just that the paddock passes do not give you much.
You can't even watch the race from the few places where it's visible. Staff kicked us out.
So, the paddock pass is not really that. You don't have access to the paddock.
You have access to the street behind the paddock, for a brief glimpse of when the riders come out.
That's it.
So, I had my glimpse of Zarco, Márquez, Rins. Was 2 feet away from Rossi (if that's what floats your boat), Dovi, Miller, Petrucci, Schrotter, etc. All of them.
But, it's useless to watch the race.

The jumbotron screens are smallish and the sound doesn't let you hear what's being narrated.
I can speak for the seated arrangements.

Since, this is my first time at track and an event like this, perhaps I was expecting too much?
if I really want to watch the race, I can watch it with my MotoGP subscription at home in my big screen tv.

If I want to absorb the atmosphere, then the race is where you want to go.

You'd think these riders would show more respect for their fans but they don't.

Zarco did the best. Even if unhappy, he hanged out more. He was kind to take pictures with people, he signed stuff. Etc.
The Rossi camp was insane. He still didn't interact with anyone.

Marquez was stressed out on Saturday, he did sign stuff, but only for a little while.
Didn't interact a single word with anyone.

On Sunday, after the race, he was more relaxed, but his crew wanted him out of the crowd after like 30 seconds.
I had a Nicaraguan baseball cap for him. Raquel gave it to him. He said "Oh gracias!" and he took the only picture with someone.

I also gave one to Zarco. He'd already left, but I went into the box, and forced a KTM mechanic to take it and promise to give it to him. He said "do you know him?". Oh yeah, we're the best of friends on Facebook I said. Hahahaha!

I wanted to give something to them. People only takes from them. So, both my caps had an Eyvind Mondragón signature. Considering that I'm the only "Eyvind Mondragón" on planet Earth, they should feel special. Hahahaha!

Petrucci was an asshole. Didn't even stop for anyone.
Miller was only catering to people with aussie accents, so he ignored me on purpose, as he did with all the other non-aussie people.

So, was it worth my $5,900 that I spent to go?

Well, I have a MM93 t-shirt signed by the Man Himself.
So, I'm telling myself that oughta do it.

Also, got to meet Zarco. and I really really like Zarco.
and got the signature of Rins, and a picture with a man who just won his first ever MotoGP first place, and that my friends is a face of joy. That was priceless!

so, yeah, I'll go again.

On my way back, I found a fellow Nicaraguan biker, who's friends with one of the owners of the Avintia team. A spaniard fella.

So, he got Guest passes, and he ate with Dovi, was in the box with the Ducatis, hanged out with the Suzuki team.
I didn't know.
So, he asked me to go to Milano with him.

Shite, I already blew my budget for this year, but wouldn't that be something?

Re: Have an Extra 3-Day Paddock Pass for COTA

I have never been to COTA but always been intrigued about folks being able to buy a paddock pass because you sure as hell will not be able to buy one at any European GP.

Any GP for a first timer is some what of a trial it’s a way of life over here people know the drill.

Combine that with any number of different languages and most circuits ship in 95% of their staff from agency companies so they have no idea anyway.

Wow what an experience - I should have tried harder to go - I could have negotiated all that crap for you - plus all you would have had to say was you were with me and all the obstacles would have parted just like the Red Sea did for Mosses.
